Bi-weekly Monday sessions at Parquette. Two hours, sharp — 7:30 to 9:30 PM. A concentrated underground showcase that fills the gap between a gym session and a 3 AM club night, with all the catharsis and none of the residue.
Guacha is a community-driven dance initiative in Montreal built around local selectors. The format is simple: we book one DJ — established legend or emerging — and give them two uninterrupted hours. No openers, no fillers, no algorithm. What we offer is latitude: room to read the floor, take risks, and dig into corners of the crate that don't always fit a peak-time slot. A techno DJ stretching into 90s house. A house DJ leaning into ballroom. A direct conversation between selector and dancer. Every set is archived on Guacha Radio, so it lives beyond the night and becomes part of the city's record.
"Sweetness" is shorthand for how we run the floor: radical kindness, sober-friendly, queer-friendly, rooted in the lineage of house, whacking, and ballroom. You get a lollipop at the door — fuel for the floor and part of the identity. At 9:30 the DJ takes home a giant lollipop as the Guacha MVP.
For dancers, house-heads, and anyone who'd rather sweat on a Monday than nurse a Tuesday hangover.
