A night to dive into layers of noise, EYDEN ZHAO opens the line up with the
interest of creating pure experiences and expressions in the sonic world. Having
birthed an intricate system of live electronics and computational modules, the
resonant ratios of Axiom undergo conversion from numerical phenomena into sonic
parameters. Sam Risser, under the moniker JUTE, uses repurposed electronics and
other everyday objects in conjunction with his body to generate cascades of
harsh electroacoustic sound that is rich with hidden information. He does not
believe that computers will save us. Progress through process is the approach of
HIGH GROVE, using the possibilities of tape manipulation and deterioration in a
live capacity as a performance tool. Closing, harsh noise project THE RITA that
brings different paths of rough, abrasive and textural constructions of live and
recorded sound since 1996, continuing to grow via sound with pantomime and
neoclassical ballet performance with artist LORELEI that has been a regular
participant in the band’s international live presentations and recordings
bringing the specific themes that drive the sound and imagery of THE RITA
virtually to life.
