| Description: | ReVerie: Sense is a deeply introspective exploration of dreams through 3D generative AI, conceived by Pinyao Liu and Keon Ju Maverick Lee. It merges the personal with the collective in a shared digital dreamscape.
The ReVerie AI system explores this scientific concept of dream reliving, translates whispered dream recollections into real-time visualizations of dream objects using a 3D generative diffusion model, allowing participants to explore a shared “dreamscape”.
Visitors take part in a dream ritual: a “ring of dream” appears, offering a moment for participants to approach the microphone and whisper three words to capture the essence of a dream. These AI-generated dream objects are then visualized and stored in a collective dreamscape.
The performance unfolds in the presence of the artists, accompanied by live music, while the installation can also be experienced as an autonomous interaction with the system.
ReVerie: Sense is presented here in a dome format as part of the SAT’s residency program.
An earlier version of the work was presented at the Ars Electronica Festival and the SIGGRAPH Immersive Pavilion in 2024.
