Name: | The Greasy Goose At Expozine |
City: | Canada, Quebec, Montreal |
Time: | Sun Nov 15, 2009 @ 12:00pm |
Description: | Free admission.
Our November event is not a salon, but a collaboration with the fantastic Expozine, Montreal's annual small press, comic, and zine fair! For the first time, this year's Expozine will include a series of readings and panel discussions and the Greasy Goose has helped out by programming the English-language content.
Saturday, November 14, 3pm
Panel discussion: "Printed Matter or Printed Doesn't Matter?"
Four panelists who represent different perspectives within the independent print world will each respond to the open-ended question "Printed Matter or Printed Doesn't Matter?" Their presentations will be followed by a moderated question period.
Organizing the panel around a question, rather than a predetermined topic, will allow for a wide-ranging discussion
of many issues relating to print culture, replicating on a small scale the eclecticism of a Greasy Goose salon.
Panelists:
*Peggy Burns (associate publisher, Drawn & Quarterly)
*Aaron Costain (designer and comix illustrator)
*Anna Leventhal (writer and performance artist)
*Jim Munroe (No Media Kings)
Moderated by Jeff Miller (Ghost Pine fanzine)
Sunday, November 15, 2pm
Readings!
Featuring an illustrator, a zine writer, and a small-press published writer, this session of readings only scratches
the surface of the range of work represented at Expozine.
*Nadia Moss (illustrator, Bebe)
*Alisha Piercy (two novellas forthcoming from Conundrum Press)
*Laura Boo (zine writer, Mama Boy Press)
