| Description: | Music has been a part of McTwist's life since he was very young. He has been influenced by many styles of music. From Heavy Metal to Motown and Classical to hiphop he has grown musically over his 22 years.
Playing in his junior high band as lead percussionist Ryan (McTwist) has had many different encounters with many differents beat styles.
In 98 McTwist broke out as a party goer and realized what he wanted to do. He watched as dj after dj manipulated the crowd with their own style of music. He then knew what he was going to do.
Soon after McTwist picked up a set of techs and a mixer and some records. Over the past 6 years he has honed his skills as a dj. Learning the basics from his friend Five-Alive. Teaching himself to scratch and mix, McTwist has played along side many djs such as Dj Dan, Aphrodite, D-Monic, Big League Chu and many others.
Recently McTwist has acquired a weekly residency at the Sambuca Lounge in Calgary, AB. |
