As dj ant: In a main room: hard techno, hard minimal, old school hard acid and progressive acid. Serious techno. No cheese. Sets of 90 minutes max. I really love to play also in chill out rooms. I have tons of it. I could and love to do longer sets then, from 2 to 6 hrs. I can be the whole headliners all night long. As a member of Paratonerf: hard minimal & acid. A bit of experimental. Straight analog. Sets no longer than 60 to 90 minutes.

I'm djing since 1994, I had spin in about 25-30 raves, also in various house parties.

I'm there since the year it broke out here in Mtl, 1993. I've been up to more then 145 raves. Promoted around 10 raves, had released under the name Paratonerf one album so far, only in cd format, in August 1999 under the label Hybrid Structure with my geek friend Jérémie Gendron. Planning an other release before the end of 2001 for sure, and on vinyls this time.
Equipment used (turntables - cds - gear)?
As ant: 2 technics sl-1200, cd player (I bring mine and use it only for me), any good mixer and a decent monitor for once god damn!

Do you like being a Dj?
Seriously, I do not want to look pretentious, but one thing that I like specially is when i look over the crowd and see people dance on the music I play and actually enjoying it, not only because they are just too passed out. Even better: when people gets so amazed that they just stare in front of the booth without believing what they are hearing. Its all about the music and the reception of the crowd.
When did you first experiment with decks and mixing vinyl at home?
In '94 @ the cegep I was going to. *They hated us so much* Not until 1995 at my place.
What was the first club/party you started spinning at?
First Rave: Neurochill 5 (June '96)
How many places have you DJed at?
25 to 30 raves. Still spinig in the rave scene today.
What was the first vinyl you bought when you started spinning?
Orbital "Are we here, various mixes" on Internal recs.
What is your most prized vinyl in your collection?
Most expensive you are asking? Then that would be from Hardfloor "The best of Hardfloor", on Eye-Q recs. A quadruple compilation. Around 40 bills.
Which song(s) is/are requested to you the most?
Honestly, mine.
Who got you into the rave scene?
Let's just say that I got there by myself which is quite rare. Its is because of The Orb that was SO big in 1992-93 and they went here for the rave "Eclipse", an amazing night on Friday October 22, 1993 that i will never forget. I was 16 and said to myself, "I don't care what the f**k is a rave I just want to go hear A.Paterson and his gang of freaks! I brought many people to the rave scene.
What's your least favorite aspect of your job?
Bad sound at @ party, it just cut my enjoy of mixing, i prefer to mix at my house instead if that happens.
What's the strangest thing that's happened to you while DJing at a party?
A cd player that switch from a song straight to an other one while playing in the room. Now that's what I call -killing a vibe on the dance floor- referring to the rave "909 city" in nov.98. You just stare at the crowd and smile, *proudly*
What's the strangest thing that's been said to you while DJing at a party?
"Hey I have this song, what is it already? the guy asked. I said : Its impossible, its from us Paratonerf and i never played this song b4, what the hell are you talking about? And the guy was insisting. Asshole. :P
What is your dream gig?
To play under perfect conditions, which can never happen unless you play @ a 514 rave. I do respect 514, fuck about they bring gino's and stupid people, so who cares? If you are in a rave, its because you want to hear the music, no? Real techheadZ have understood this and had stopped judging anybody. Let's go hear some talent from anywhere in the world in GOOD conditions (sound, lights, visuals, pyrotechny, and a professional stage to see the artists playing.
Do you consider doing production (your own music) in the near future?
I am already like i said. The funny thing when i'm mixing is that i can add my own songs to it from my album "debutation", or un-released tracks. It adds a dimension to the dj set that not a lot of dj's from here can do in fact. :)
