With his foundations stemming back to the early 90’s Montreal rave community and a DJ background encompassing enough genres to make him a card carrying member in the Montreal chapter of the Music Nerd Alliance (yes, we have both meetings AND a secret handshake), it’s no wonder that Ghostbeard has spent some 13+ years overseeing the North American operations of Ninja Tune Recordings. Yeah, Ninja Tune, you know , that insanely amazing record label founded by industry legends Coldcut that has been home to people such as Amon Tobin, Qemists, Kid Koala and many, many more?
Presently, Ghost keeps his skills sharp by rinsing a steady stream of anything vaguely in the vein of ragga, whether that be reggae, dancehall, dub-step or (and this is the part where you should pay attention because this concerns you ) JUNGLE. He was one of our favorite acts to throw down at Picnik Electronik this past summer and had even our most non-jungle loving friend bouncing from excitement and spilling booze all over us from the start of his set right until the finish.
Our first attempt to lock him down for an event proved fruitless as he was jet setting about doing shows, our second attempt fell down like a house of cards.
But this time, THIS is the ONE!
