King Sunshine illuminates disco roots and drop inflections of funk and dance rhythms, reinventing house music and driving the whole fusion over the red line. Comprised of nine musicians including unconventional keyboards/synths, heart pounding drums/percussion, deep and dirty bass, slick guitar, electronic textures, hefty horns and beautiful vocal overlays. King Sunshine have been lighting dance floors on fire since 1998 as a highly skilled and electric live act, redefining the concert going experience. Performances at Canada’s largest music festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2005,2006 and 2009, Ottawa Blues Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Toronto/ Montreal Fashion and Design Festival and Halifax's Evolve Festival has brought KS nationwide recognition. Solid club shows and underground parties have led to memorable evenings and shared stages with some of music's finest DJs, including Theo Parrish, DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Ron Trent and Little Louis Vega. King Sunshine's raw explosive energy takes dance music off of vinyl and brings it to the live stage.
