Wake up, have an espresso, listen to music, go to work, come home, spin, go out, party party party, come home, spin, no breakfast, no lunch, no dinner, spin, wake up, espresso ………

With a life like this DJ Tomasso Ferrari should be dead....

What influences a man to devote his entire life to music?

Tomasso Ferrari was born in Romania and lived in Italy for seven years before relocating to Montreal and then to Southern Ontario. Having developed a clearly European aesthetic, he was unimpressed with North American mainstream music. His father gave him tapes of electronic artists such as Jean Michele Jarre and Kraftwerk which became his original inspiration for electronic music.

At the age of twelve he discovered DJing and electronic music production, a much more fulfilling hobby than the guitar lessons he quickly conquered and became bored with. While other kids at the time were discovering grunge rock, Fluke, Future Sound of London, Underworld and Orbital were influencing Tomasso. Consumed by the underground culture of electronic music he would hang out at record stores and listen to music instead of socializing at the local malls or attending school dances.

Imbedded in the after-hours and nightclub scene since fourteen, Ferrari would go to great lengths to see renowned DJs and producers. Studying Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Toronto was very useful but at the same time it was more of a distraction than a career path, as the time devoted to studying was time that could have been spent experimenting, spinning music, and producing.

Having developed an extremely professional home studio, Ferrari has been self-producing, mastering, and distributing mixes for techno’s underground devotees for years.

A name that resonates deep with partygoers, Tomasso Ferrari is an indispensable DJ with an unparalleled sound.

In the ungodly hours of the morning you’ll find him searching for and remixing the hidden gem of unheard tracks.

Every set is an experience.
