We started the Baile MTL parties at Zoobizarre about a year ago. At first, the whole thing was about playing Funk Carioca bass music loud in a nice club with a good soundsystem, and also bringing the brazilian and latin Montreal communities out to mix with music/dance afficiacionados in a friendly, no posing environment. We opened up the concept a bit and are now playing kind of bass & beats music from all around the world, that you can't really hear anywhere else in a club in Monteal, or even in Canada. So in order to celebrate our first year, we wanted to do something special. We asked Ghislain Poirier if he would be down to do a good party with us, as he's not only an inspiration but also a friend. We also invited Criollo, one of the best reggaeton act from Montreal to do some tracks, and Ghis is bringing Face T, from Kulcha Connection, to perform some of the tracks you'll hear on Ghislain's next album (bangers if you ask me). The whole thingy is happening at Lambi, on friday April 20th, where you can find the Caribbean vibe and nice big speakers. The place will be vibrating!! |
